Integrated Programme
(IP) Math
IP Mathematics is a unique and comprehensive 6-year course that integrates both secondary school and pre-tertiary level education. The syllabi of each IP school may differ, and as such, our main purpose is to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the GCE A-Level examination.
At MATHATHON
We acknowledge the unique aspect of the Math curriculum in IP Mathematics, where schools have the freedom to design their own syllabus based on their students' learning preferences and academic profiles. In response, we have customised our IP Math tuition classes to cater to small groups, carefully considering school affiliations and syllabi to create an environment that encourages consultation and personalised teaching. Our IP Math tuition lessons and learning materials are thoughtfully curated to remain up to date with the evolving IP syllabi, ensuring that our students receive relevant and targeted support.
Year 1&2
Our IP Math tuition classes in Years 1 and 2 serve as building blocks for more complex mathematical topics covered in subsequent IP years and pre-university. The concepts and skills learned in these years provide a foundation for topics like calculus, vectors, matrices, and advanced statistics. A strong understanding of the fundamentals gained in IP Mathematics Years 1 and 2 is crucial for success in these advanced topics.
Through customised, differentiated lessons and individualised support, we look to foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. With a focus on building mathematical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, we empower students to develop a strong foundation that will serve them well throughout IP Mathematics and beyond.
Class Duration: 2 hours
Class size: 8 - 10 students
YEAR 3&4
As students progress to Year 3 & 4 IP Mathematics, they will be diving deeper into more advanced and complex topics and concepts. They will be tasked to tackle higher-order mathematical questions and may face obstacles that could hinder their academic progression.
We recognise these challenges and each student’s unique learning needs. Therefore, through our IP Math tuition classes and the expertise of our teachers, we are able to identify individual strengths and weaknesses, enabling us to offer tailored attention and support. We tackle students' particular hurdles by adjusting our teaching approaches and pace to align with their capacities, ensuring that every student progresses effectively without being left behind.
Class Duration: 2 hours

What is Mathathon's make-up class policy? We encourage students to attend make-up classes within the same week if they miss a class, subject to availability, and request notification of at least 48 hours in advance. If a make-up class is not possible, we will provide the missed class's learning materials and encourage students to review them independently. Students can subsequently check in with our teachers for any doubts and clarifications.
